Loose Salute

As autumn creeps in to the Southeast, I offer up these albums as a way to spread the gospel of Ronnie Lane. He brought some light into this world. I encourage everyone to check out "The Passing Show," a documentary about his life and times (mainly post-Faces). Ronnie knew some stuff.

Anymore for Anymore (Part 1)
Anymore for Anymore (Part 2)

Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance
(This combine's Ronnie's 1974 Slim Chance album and One For The Road, from 1976, with a few omissions.)

Mahoney's Last Stand
(Soundtrack for the 1972 film known as Mahoney's Last Stand or, alternately, Mahoney's Estate; does anyone have a copy of this?)

You Never Can Tell: The BBC Sessions (Part 1)
You Never Can Tell: The BBC Sessions (Part 2)

How Come
(A compilation; mainly included here for the glorious "Kuschty Rye.")

21
I must launch out my boat. The languid hours pass by on the shore- Alas for me!
The spring has done its flowering and taken leave. And now with the burden of faded futile flowers I wait and linger.
The waves have become clamorous, and upon the bank in the shady lane the yellow leaves flutter and fall.

What emptiness do you gaze upon! Do you not feel a thrill passing through the air with the notes of the far away song floating from the other shore?

-Rabindranath Tagore

Thanks SO much for these records...they mean a lot to me for a lot of reasons through my life. You'll no doubt know yourself how hard his cds (let alone the vinyl!!) is to come across these days unless you have spare cash running into the 100s...so thank you sincerely from so very many people for uploading these for us all.
Sorry to be a cheeky bugger, but I don't suppose there's any chance of uploading One For The Road, is there?!!
Eitherway, many, many sincere thanks for these classic records, and thanks for a great website.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
"One for the Road" is one of my favourite albums. I own the LP which I've ripped but the sound quality of a very used vinyl is not that good :-) Actually I heard The Slim Chance at a small concert at Stockholm University Student Union 1975 so these songs bring back sweet memories.

Ronnie Lane--so good! The Slim Chance albums are begging for a non-mini LP CD reissue with all the tracks. Reviewed ONE FOR THE ROAD on my blog.

Faces' "A nod's a wink to a blind horse" was one of my first LP's and Ronnie Lane's Debris was the track I liked most.
I watched the BBC documentary (The Passing Show) and I recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about Ronnie. Thank you for these pages.
